Pre and Postnatal Personal Training in the City of London
Specialist coaching for pre and postnatal personal training, with pelvic floor and core rehabilitation woven into every session. Private studio inside a multidisciplinary clinic, minutes from Bank and Monument stations.
Who Is Pre and Postnatal Personal Training For?
Whether you need a pregnancy personal trainer who understands each trimester or a postnatal personal trainer to guide your return to exercise, our specialist coaches meet you where you are and build from there.
Expecting and want to stay active safely
Training tailored to your trimester, energy and medical guidance.
Postnatal and rebuilding strength
Graded return from at least six weeks post-birth with GP clearance.
Concerned about pelvic floor or diastasis recti
Specialist screening and coaching integrated into every session.
Looking for a private, supportive setting
Train one-to-one in a quiet, private EC3V studio away from the gym floor.
Your Prenatal Programme
Safe, structured training adapted to each trimester and how you feel on the day.
Adapt
Core, pelvic floor and breathing integrated into every session for your trimester.
Breathing, alignment and pelvic floor awareness are integrated into strength and conditioning so you can manage pressure and support your changing posture. Work stays appropriate to your trimester and how you feel session to session.
Strengthen
Safe modifications with load, range and volume adjusted as pregnancy progresses.
Exercises are adapted for comfort, balance and medical advice. We avoid generic templates and adjust volume, range and load as pregnancy progresses, always prioritising how you respond on the day.
Support
Managing discomfort around back ache, rib discomfort or fatigue.
We help you train around common issues and know when to refer back to your midwife or GP. The goal is sustainable activity, not pushing through pain.
Your Postnatal Return
A graded pathway from reconnection through to full training, respecting your recovery every step.
Reconnect
Breathing, pelvic floor timing and whole-body movement.
Early phases reconnect breathing, pelvic floor timing and whole-body movement before heavier loading. This supports continence, comfort and confidence as you increase demand.
Rebuild
Core reconnection and trunk stability in patterns respecting recovery.
We rebuild trunk stability and strength using clear progressions rather than rushing back to intense ab work or high-impact sessions.
Assess
Diastasis recti screening and graded core strengthening.
Where appropriate we assess abdominal separation and programme exercises that support tissue recovery and function, aligned with specialist input if your case needs it.
Return
Path back to running, lifting or sport. If you need a more structured rehab pathway, our rehabilitation service can support the transition.

What Our Clients Say
5.0 (41 reviews)“We cannot recommend TJ highly enough for personal training. TJ has been training my husband and I for several years now. He has helped me both pre and post natal to support the transformation that occurs in the body and enable rehabilitation post pregnancy.”
“I have been training with Ludovica for four years and I have become so much stronger, mentally and physically. Never did I think I'd be able to deadlift 60kg! She is a highly experienced trainer, who is never prescriptive, and who always takes the client's specific needs into careful attention.”
“I have had many PTs over the years and I have to say TJ is by far the best. I wanted my training schedule to be tailored towards building core strength and creating balance in the body. TJ is exceptionally knowledgeable in his field.”
“Elevate LDN is an excellent private space to train in and it's really helpful that it is connected to LHC which means good communication between the PTs and the Physios. I've trained with TJ Tamana for several years and his expert knowledge and approach have helped keep me in decent shape and pretty fit.”
“Elevate is a fantastic studio for personal training. Everyone is incredibly friendly, the facilities are great, and it is good value for money for the quality of service you receive.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Ask us a questionYes, when it is appropriately prescribed and delivered by trainers who understand prenatal exercise guidelines. We focus on movement quality, load management and symptoms rather than maximal effort. Sessions are held in a quiet, low-traffic studio at 38 Lombard Street, EC3V, away from the busy gym floor environment. We always work within any advice from your midwife, GP or consultant and encourage you to share updates as your pregnancy progresses.
Most new mothers begin structured return-to-exercise work after their six- to eight-week GP or postnatal check, or when their clinician has confirmed they are cleared for exercise. Timelines vary after caesarean birth, complications or individual recovery. We never rush the start date: the first phase prioritises breathing, pelvic floor awareness, core reconnection and gradual loading before higher-intensity work.
We expect postnatal clients to have postnatal or GP clearance before we add structured load and impact. If you are pregnant, we take a full history and adapt training to your stage and any medical guidance you have been given. If something falls outside our scope, we will signpost you back to your healthcare team. Our building also houses clinical practitioners, which supports a joined-up approach when needed.
Standard personal training often prioritises performance and intensity from week one. Pre and postnatal programmes emphasise pelvic floor and core integration, pressure management, safe modifications for each trimester or postnatal stage, and progression only when your body is ready. Exercises, volume and tempos are chosen to respect pregnancy-related changes or postnatal recovery, not only aesthetic or strength goals.
We screen and coach in line with best-practice guidance: postnatal work can include diastasis recti assessment, strategies to manage intra-abdominal pressure, and graded core and full-body strengthening. Pelvic floor rehabilitation is integrated into how we teach movement and breathing. If we identify symptoms that need specialist women's health physiotherapy, we will recommend appropriate care. The clinic on site makes onward referral straightforward.
Ludovica Perinelli holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, a Level 5 Sports Therapy qualification, and a specialist pre and postnatal certification. TJ Tamana holds a pre and postnatal training diploma alongside his BioSignature Practitioner certification and over 20 years of personal training experience. You can read full biographies on our meet the team page. Both trainers work within their scope and alongside your medical team rather than replacing clinical advice.
We are at 38 Lombard Street, London EC3V 9BS, in the City of London. Bank station and Monument station are a short walk away, which suits clients fitting sessions around work in the Square Mile. Training is one-to-one in a private studio, not on a busy gym floor.
Frequency depends on your stage, energy and goals: many clients attend one to three times per week, with homework between sessions. You can absolutely combine personal training with physiotherapy or other care. Because healthcare professionals work in the same building on Lombard Street, communication and timing of interventions can be easier than training at a standalone gym.
