Luke Donovan
Luke has over 15 years of coaching experience across strength and conditioning, endurance sport, and boxing. His primary focus is sports performance and S&C for endurance athletes — marathon runners, ultra-runners and triathletes who need structured strength work alongside their sport-specific training.
His training philosophy is rooted in StrongFirst principles: big compound lifts, heavy carries, accessory work and structured conditioning. That approach builds real-world strength and resilience, whether the client is a City worker looking to get stronger after years at a desk or a competitive athlete preparing for an event.
Luke is an accomplished endurance athlete himself. He has completed ultra-marathons and played competitive club-level rugby, giving him first-hand understanding of what it takes to train for sustained effort and repeated high-intensity output. His S&C coaching for endurance athletes focuses on building durability, improving running economy and reducing injury risk through targeted strength and mobility work. Several of his clients compete at a high level in marathon, ultra-marathon and triathlon events.
Luke also brings genuine fight-sport knowledge to his coaching. A Welsh Open boxing champion with five competitive MMA fights, his boxing sessions cover technical pad work, footwork, defensive skills and conditioning. He coaches all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners sharpening their technique for competition.
