What people are saying about our sport performance personal training programmes

I've been training with Ben for several months now. He's created a personal training programme centered around golf fitness that's increased my strength and flexibility. I've found that I feel stronger but also has helped me swing harder without getting small injuries that I had been picking up before. Ben is really great to work with and I'd definitely recommend.

I have been working with Ben on personal training for a couple of years now, focussing on golf fitness. With his Titleist Performance Institute certification Ben is able to provide dedicated golf fitness training that has helped this middle aged, 13 handicap golfer to improve mobility, strength and (importantly) provide an extra 15 yards off the tee! Thanks Ben

Ben was recommended to me by my Chiropractor, I wanted to improve my flexibility and core strength to help with my Golf and to protect my back. I'm 64 and concious that I'm getting more vulnerable to injury and not hitting the ball as far as I used to! Ben personalised a series of one on one workouts for me which I could also do at home using an App. These took into consideration my body "issues" and age, and I found the whole process enjoyable and rewarding. My flexibility and core strength have improved week by week and I found the whole process very enjoyable. I would recommend anyone looking for similar improvements to sign up! I had a course of 12 sessions and am going back for more.

Ben has been exceedingly helpful. I have been seeing him for personal training and he has materially improved my golf fitness. He understands the mechanics of the golf swing and my rotation, speed and power are all vastly better.

What does it involve?

TPI Movement Screen & Assessment

Every golfer moves differently, and understanding your unique movement patterns is crucial for improving your game. We start with a comprehensive TPI movement screen, assessing your mobility, stability, strength, and coordination. This structured evaluation helps us pinpoint physical limitations that may be restricting your swing efficiency, power, or consistency. Whether it’s a lack of hip rotation, poor balance, or shoulder stiffness, identifying these weak points allows us to create a tailored plan to enhance your performance.

Our TPI-certified trainers use a science-backed approach to analyse your movement, incorporating biomechanical assessments to determine how your body affects your swing. A golfer with excellent hip mobility but poor thoracic rotation, for example, will require a different training focus than someone with great flexibility but low core stability. By understanding these individual movement patterns, we can create a structured programme to maximise efficiency and minimise injury risk.

Once your movement assessment is complete, we develop a golf-specific training plan designed to correct imbalances, improve flexibility, and strengthen key movement patterns. Regular reassessments ensure that as your movement quality improves, your training adapts accordingly. This approach means every workout you do is purpose-driven and directly benefits your performance on the course.

Mobility & Flexibility Training

Golf requires a huge range of motion, and restricted mobility is one of the most common issues that affect golfers at all levels. Without adequate flexibility in key areas like the hips, thoracic spine, and shoulders, your body will compensate with inefficient movement patterns, increasing your risk of injury and limiting your ability to generate power. Our mobility-focused training is designed to improve joint range of motion, enhance muscle elasticity, and refine movement mechanics to give you a smoother, more efficient swing.

We utilise a mix of dynamic stretching, mobility drills, and targeted flexibility exercises to unlock better movement patterns. This includes hip openers for improved rotation, thoracic mobility drills for better club control, and shoulder exercises to enhance stability and reduce stress on the joints. Many golfers experience lower back discomfort due to poor hip and thoracic mobility, and addressing these restrictions can make a significant difference in both performance and injury prevention.

Flexibility training is not just about being able to stretch further—it’s about functional mobility, ensuring you can move through a full range of motion with strength and control. By integrating mobility work into your golf fitness programme, you’ll be able to generate a more fluid swing, reduce tension in your muscles, and maintain consistent movement patterns through 18 holes.

Strength & Power Development

A strong, stable body is essential for generating clubhead speed and distance. Strength training for golf isn’t about lifting the heaviest weights possible—it’s about building functional strength that translates directly to better swing mechanics and controlled power output. Our training incorporates exercises that target core strength, rotational power, and lower-body stability, all of which are crucial for an efficient, explosive swing.

We use a combination of resistance training, kettlebells, medicine balls, and bodyweight exercises to build a foundation of strength while ensuring you maintain the mobility required for a smooth, unrestricted swing. By developing strength in key muscle groups—such as the glutes, core, and shoulders—you can generate more force through the ball while reducing the risk of fatigue or compensatory movements that can lead to inconsistency.

Power development is another crucial component of our training. Golf is a sport that requires rapid force production, particularly in the downswing phase. We incorporate plyometrics, explosive rotational drills, and speed-focused resistance training to ensure that your strength gains translate into increased clubhead speed and greater shot distance without sacrificing control or precision.

Injury Prevention & Longevity

Golf may not be a high-impact sport, but repetitive movements and imbalances can lead to injuries over time. Common issues such as lower back pain, golfer’s elbow, and shoulder strain often stem from poor movement mechanics and muscular imbalances. Our injury prevention strategies focus on improving movement efficiency, strengthening stabilising muscles, and reducing excessive strain on joints and soft tissues.

One of the key elements of injury prevention is movement control. Many golfers unknowingly place unnecessary stress on their bodies due to compensatory movement patterns, such as over-relying on their lower back instead of engaging their core or failing to utilise proper hip rotation. Our training helps retrain movement patterns to create a more stable, balanced, and sustainable swing, reducing the likelihood of overuse injuries.

Beyond the immediate benefits of injury prevention, longevity is a major focus of our golf fitness training. The best golfers in the world stay at the top of their game for decades, largely due to effective strength and mobility training that allows them to maintain consistency year after year. By prioritising joint health, muscle resilience, and overall physical longevity, we help you stay strong, mobile, and pain-free for as long as you continue playing.
